Albert Hall is one of Canberra’s most significant cultural landmarks — a heritage-listed venue that has hosted performances, celebrations and gatherings since it first opened in 1928.Located on Commonwealth Avenue in Yarralumla, just 3.5 km from the city centre, the Hall is managed by the Cultural Facilities Corporation (CFC) — the ACT Government agency responsible for some of the city’s most important cultural assets.As a venue, Albert Hall continues its proud tradition as a space for music, performance, festivals, community gatherings, weddings, exhibitions, and other cultural events that bring people together.Designed by J Hunter Kirkpatrick with assistance from Robert Casboulte, Albert Hall is a rare surviving example of the 1920s Federal Capital style, retaining many of its original architectural features, including:arched windowsiconic pilastersRoman tiled roofThe Hall remains a cherished meeting place and a unique venue for events that seek a sense of character, history, and civic importance.
